Error when using cPanel >> Backups to restore a MySQL database Print

  • 0

Symptoms

When using the cPanel >> Backups page to restore a MySQL database, you may encounter the following error:

Error: The system failed to execute the database script with
the following errors: ERROR: ASCII
'\0' appeared in the
statement, but
this is not allowed unless option --binary-mode is
enabled and mysql is run in non-interactive mode. Set --binary-mode
to
1 if ASCII '\0' is expected. Query: 'username/'.

Description

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-40667. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.

Workaround

If you have root access to the server, you can restore the account as the root user and that works properly.
