Question

What type of remote Backup Destination are available inside the cPanel interface for your account?

Answer

Please note, this answer only applies to the cPanel interface and does not apply to the WHM Backup Feature.

By default, there are four connection types you can use when creating a 'Full Account Backup' inside the cPanel interface. To view these options:

1. Log in to the account's cPanel
2. Navigate to "Files / Backup / Full Backup"
3. Click the button "Download a Full Account Backup":
   
4. On the next page, you will find a pull-down menu under 'Backup Destination', which contains four options:
   • Home Directory
   • Remote FTP server
   • Remote FTP server (passive mode transfer)
   • Secure Copy (SCP)
