With the announcement of the CSF closure, does cPanel have any plans regarding it?
Answer
On July 30th, 2025, Configserver.com announced that it will be closing down permanently on August 31, 2025. Since then, they have clarified that they do plan on releasing CSF under the GPLv3 license.
While this was third-party software, we are always dedicated to finding ways to improve cPanel/WHM. Currently, we are actively evaluating long-term options, which may include identifying a suitable alternative to CSF or exploring the possibility of contributing to the project, should it become open source.
