Symptoms
cPanel team member/user password set/reset by email fails with an error.
Description
When "Reset Password for cPanel accounts" is disabled from "Tweak Settings / System / ", cPanel wont allow the new user or existing user to set their password via email resulting in the below error.
We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-50003 . Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
Workaround
The workaround is to change the password via the UI from cPanel / Preferences / Manage Team / using the "Set the user’s password" option instead of the "The user will set the account password" and mail the user their password or allow users to reset their password from "Tweak Settings / System / Reset Password for cPanel accounts"
