You can configure different alt-php versions for a user's directories as outlined here:

The information below will allow you to configure the PHP extensions when using this method.

Procedure

  1. Log in as the root user via SSH or the WHM "Terminal."
  2. Create this file: /etc/cl.selector/symlinks.rules 
    touch /etc/cl.selector/symlinks.rules
  3. Add this code to the file: 
    php.d.location = selector
  4. Update the selector with this command:  
    /usr/bin/selectorctl --apply-symlinks-rules
